We will be having a 60-Day Paleo/PR Challenge starting Monday Jan 10, 2011 and finishing March 12, 2011. The PR Challange consists of a workout that is done on Monday, 1/10/11 at both boxes and repeated on Saturday, 3/12/11 in Williamstown to measure improvement.
The Paleo Challenge starts Monday 1/10/11 where we will take measurements (body fat % and lean muscle mass) and you will start a private and public log of your Paleo intake through a point system. It's $30 for the PR Challenge and $30 for the Paleo Challenge, but if you want to compete in both it's $50. Ca$h Prizes for both!! More details to follow!!
We will be holding a Paleo Seminar on Jan 8, 2011, the Saturday prior to the Challenge to help answer any questions on the in's and out's of Paleo. Time to be announced. Cost is $50.
The Paleo Challenge and the Paleo Seminar are great ways to help refine: your knowledge of quality food, be held accountable for what you're eating on a daily basis and to use the OTG Community as a support system to get you through your tough spots.
Let's eat well together!!

For those of us looking for simplicity, it doesn't get broken down better than this.

Happy Friday!
Story of my life, I ordered a shaker last week.
All caught up on the blog. Joey O, You ARE STRONG BRO! Sick!
I have taken an alternate route for the challenge and have been consuming all the crap that I won't be eating come January. Thinking that's not such a great idea. Going to try to clean up my act asap.
Mike, well said!
Getting pumped up for the Paleo and PR challenges. In prep for the Paleo, I've been doing some reading and found a great blog entry from a couple years ago on this guy's site.
Check it out if you have time. He includes the the overall effects, etc... http://emphaticsolutions.com/2009/01/12/clean-eating-how-I-make-it-work.html
Nick has given "Halfway" as my new name and since there are two too many marias - that will be it.
Posting for yesterday and today..
squat cleans - started 85.finished on 115. really trying to control the squat."trying" being the key word. cash out med ball cleans - 202. Thanks for giving me a pace Justin.
Today - total 340. painful.
followed by getting my @ss kicked in dogeball. I honestly think Nick was out for blood.
WOD: 318 total (PP-113, BJ-110, SDHP-95) Rx'd
Just to be consistent and report the good and the bad:
Wed: 5:23 on Annie with 1/2 the reps for DUs. (Thank you to just about everyone that offered help. Still ugly and inefficient as sin, but there is some sign of progress.)
Thurs: 150 squat clean. Ton of work to be done there. 2:23 on the med ball cleans. Shocking that I didn't open my hips on the first 10 reps ... as shocking as Nick calling me out on every one of them.
Today: 410 total reps.
BOMBARDMENT: I need to work on my aim, my reflexes, my speed, my control ... still a lot of fun though.
Whoa baby!! Fight Gone Bad all over again, kinda...
WOD total: 329..I pushed myself pretty hard. Determined not to get anything under 20 reps...and I didn't!! Great workout, loved it! Can't wait to see what tomorrow brings:)
another humbling day at OTG;
WOD: 231, PP-88, BJ-79, SDHP-64, cash out: 91;

Patrick, thank you so much for sharing your time & talent with us. The pictures are awesome!!!
Patrick:
At risk of admitting I'm an idiot, I can't let it go unsaid that I don't think that I have seen you since May when I snuck in a class at Wtown and I had no clue that was you taking pictures at the Challenge. For the record, you look tremendous. Keep up the good work.
Kevin
A little "man love" (Kevin M. to Patrick) to end the work week ... this place never ceases to amaze me !!!
All in good fun Kev !!!
For the record, the new progenex recovery tastes like SHIIIIIITTT!!!! Way to screw up a great product.

Kevin, thanks! you woulda thought Diggs would be noticing, as i see him every other day :-)
and Diggs, don't be a hater-- you know me, I need all the love I can get these days!!
finally, I just ordered the Robb Wolf book, if anyone else is planning to buy, i'd like to suggest www.betterworldbooks.com, it was like $2 more than Amazon, but they offer free shipping and fund some worthwhile literacy programs... have a great weekend all, and thanks again for the kind words, peace!
SDHP:92
Box:63
push press:64
Total: 208
box jumps are getting better but still slow as hell...
Made my first paleo stuffing experiment you can find the recipe here :http://everydaypaleo.com/2010/11/15/thanksgiving-recipes-and-everyday-paleo-pumpkin-pie-cooking-demo/
It was pretty good, but probably could use some tweaking. I think the key is finding the right chicken sausage. The brand i used (from Bonterra Market) wasn't in casing so i couldn't get it very crumbly. Tomorrow will be recipe number 2.
WOD Rx'd
307, the Push presses were slowing me down, should have pushed hard.
Amazing work -410- today Kevin M
Big shout out to Mark for proving to all the haters that SEALfit can be done. Just not done within an hour =P
