So Paleo restricts most things I eat. It seems simply:
No grains, no dairy, no beans, peas, peanuts, no potatoes. No obvious bad things (sugar, processed foods, fatty / fried foods).
Eat lean meat, vegetables, fruit, nuts.
Sounds easy. It's actually buying and making the food that is the big hurdle.
I am not going to "start" paleo, but I am trying to cut the cream from my coffee.
Gotta tell ya when it comes to diet..of course that is my number one struggle but I've gone back to writing everything down....it seems like a lot of work but it's been working for me. Everything I eat I log the macronutrients and make sure I stay within a certain limit (carbs, fats, protein). I also cut certain things out of my diet...for one, if it has no nutritional value I don't eat it (anything processed that has ingredients I can't pronounce or white flour products or sugar..even though some things have minimal sugar such as jam or jelly...i buy organic low sugar, I really haven't depleted sugar out of my diet completely ). I seem to be doing more of "zone" than paleo...it seems to be working so far even though I started just before Thanksgiving. And Paul, I understand about the creamer in coffee....I enjoy my coffee too! I use fat free flavored creamer but it still has the sugar...instead of just pouring it, I measure. Oh...I forgot, I do measure everything too...it helps.
Will be missing this workout today unless I can get there tonight....I'm home with a sick kid:( Have a good workout!
wanted to come in to the 930 because its been awhilee but then i looked and saw T2B...this is why i shouldn't look at the blog
Lift ... 135-155-165-175-185
WOD ... 8:22 w/ 115 lbs.
Great work 9:30 ... thanks for keeping the class "on schedule" for me today Justin.
Chris,
The 0630 crew (me, Bill and Denny) made every attempt to get Justin's week started off right away with yesterday's main site WOD. Hopefully it worked and he was wide awake for the 0930 group.
Thanks for helping us this morning Justin.
Dennis
what a nice week starter........ NOT
The thrusters were not bad, but another humbler on the T2B.....
Lift: 115-135-145-155(F)-155
WOD: 105 lbs, poor looking T2B, 16:25, ugh...
Dennis, Justin was raving about the wake up WOD, good job!
Yeah Dennis, I think Justin's exact comment was "I wish I could do the main site WOD with those guys every morning at 6:30am!" ... or something along those lines !!!
HAHAH !!!
Lift: 115,135,155,165,165
WOD: Thrusters 135 (rx'd) T2B 14:30
Hard workout today!
Thanks Nick for the push...
rx'd-(against a wall for the t2b)
8:27
WOD: "Starring" 10:32 (Rx'd)
Anyone else Rx this and find that weight pretty challenging? On each round, I felt I almost had to push jerk the 135lb to overhead after a few reps... My hips were TOASTED!
Ugh... looking forward to possibly getting back to the Woo'town box with the 5:30p crew tomorrow.
Lift: 135-155-185, had to stop because of shoulder, then not too happy in the wod
Rx'd 9:16..
Lift - 115-135-155-175-195
Gotta try 205 next time.
WOD - 8:31 Rx'd Surprisingly strong on the Thrusters.
Lift: 65-75-85-95-105

Lift: 65-75-85-95(f)-95(f)
Not sure what time was since I had it in my head to do 6 rounds... DUH!!! Extra work is always good though :)
WOD: 75lbs/13:44, T2B felt really great today!
I just had something cut out of my leg so I don't think I will be in this week :(
Lift
95-115-135-155-165(F)
WOd
First Rd RX, then had mental breakdown and stripped weight to 115
12:27
Kevin way to push through that weight.
Tony, your an animal going heavy RX.
Great work 5:30
What a WOD!
Lift - 75, 85, 95, 105f, 105f, 105 got it!!! New PR :)
Wod - 75lbs. 11:37. T2B felt pretty good today. My wrists and forearms were a limiting factor towards the end...once I got over the mental aspect
Great job 4:30!!! See everyone tomorrow! :)
Lift: 75-85-95-105-110(f) close, but my head wouldn't let me get it. 105 is a new PR though! !
WOD: 12:07, 75lbs. T2b still suck. Awesome job 4:30!!
Did the Heavy Starring rx'd it was at least 16 minutes I felt so retarded afterward I didn't look at the clock.
Lift 175-195(f)-185-195(f)-195(f)
I Had to of done 15 powercleans during this wod and a bunch of misses on the weighted T2B. GJ kevin pushing yourself on that last round of thrusters.
love monday WODs,
lift 135-155-165-185-205
WOD: 10:54 RX
heavy option? yeah, no thanks but it was fun watching Tony suffer through it, great work bro
felt so good to get back into the swing of things today.
lift: 75-85-90-95 (barely got it up there)-95 (failed twice) i had a hard time with thrusters today...need to work on technique for sure.
wod: 12:13 65lbs. finally able to to some t2b! got a few before we started and during the first round, then went to knees to elbow. since i only got a few during the wod i did a few more before i left to just make sure i could :)
Lift - maxed out at 90 - woo hoo
WOD - 11:10 65lbs, T2B getting better - can get 7 up unbroken...
Good Job 6:30 !
WOD: 14:15 weight was heavy & still having issues with toes to bar, other then that, good times!
165 on the lift and 135 for the WOD. Don't remember the exact time, but it was 13 and change. Work capacity was not the issue; it was all about mental and physical strength. I am fine being on the verge of puking after 100 burpees, but heavy weight gets in my head. Need to be a little tougher next time.
Thanks to everyone for pushing me through it and Nick for not giving me the choice.
Tony -- that was quite an effort, especially the fight on the last few reps.
Kudos to everyone sub-10. That is stellar.
