IDEAL BODYWEIGHT
Do you have an 'ideal' weight? If so, what is it and why? I am currently 5' 8", 165lbs and every "Ideal Bodyweight Calculator" I found online (there's ALOT!!) said that my ideal weight is roughly 147 and that I'm overweight. How do these amazing calculators define my health with just my height and weight? No Lean Muscle Mass, No Body Fat Percentage, and certainly Not the Ratio of the two. No blood sample, No cholesterol update, No blood sugar analysis, and No Triglyceride check.
Listen to your body, pay close attention to your performance and energy levels and make sure you're on the path to meeting and exceeding your current goals. Your body wants balance and is always working towards it. We get in the way most of the time with stress, poor choices of food/drink, sleep deprivation, lack of hydration and poor recovery. Let's get out of the way and let "nature" take it's course. Take time to meditate 15 mins a day, plan your meals ahead of time, get your daily dose of sleep (6 hrs, 7.5 hrs or 9 hrs), always have water on hand, and roll out/mobility wod after every workout.

1 Swing - 1 Breath, 2 Swings - 2 Breaths, 3 Swings - 3 Breaths, etc..
This workout is designed to work on regulating your breaths between reps. After every set you are allowed that many breaths. You are allowed to breathe as much as you'd like during the swings. Can you do this without putting the KB down?

The online BW calculators have always been my enemy. At 5'8", 170, I'm a heifer according to those standards. Akin to this, I also hate weighing in during a visit to the doctor's office. The nurse always says, "You're overweight, but in the lower spectrum..." Grrr... I'm gonna go hit the elliptical.
According to most body weight calculators, I am borderline "underweight" for my height. I clicked on the link that Nick posted, and it told me my "ideal" weight is 147 lbs. That is almost 15 lbs. heavier than I actually am! I thought that was pretty funny, considering I have weighed about the same for the past 10 years, and I can honestly say, I am in the best shape now than ever! Weight is just a number, as far as I am concerned. I'm more interested in my body fat percentage and things like cholesterol and blood pressure, considering high levels of both run in my family. This makes me want to go get a blood test and jump in a dunk tank!

nice,..... according to the link, my ideal is 165Lbs ! and my "range should be bet. 147-183,.... last October when i signed up, I was 246, last week i was 235, and was hoping to get down to around 200, really curious to see how the paleo goes in these next couple months, i've been on meds for high blood pressure & cholesterol, so i'll be getting tested again soon to compare the numbers........

Ideal body weight, I should be around 137...yeah right!!! According to the calculator, I guess I'm moderately overweight....I know I can afford to decrease my "body fat", but not so much to focus on losing "weight". I don't even focus on losing weight anymore, just to lean out and do better with my workouts. Looking forward to the challenge for that reason.

borderline obese, 6'2" @ 212, like to be a lighter weight, it helps during the workouts, if i get around 220, the body weight wod,s get tough
yea, 155 to 194 lbs, ideal is 174, really? i would be see through if i was 174. it's a struggle trying to get to 210.

I need to start paying more attention to my depth.. It’s getting waaaay harder to get back up out of that squat. So now there are three thought s running through my head during a lift.
1. Damn this shit is heavy..
2. Keep your knees out.
3. Stay on your heals.
4. Stop, don’t you dare go lower..

This workout definitely sheds light on your breathing/rest technique, and how very important it is to pay attention to it during a workout.

Will someone start digging me a 6 foot hole in the ground? According to the link, I am 57 lbs over ideal and 46 above the upper limit. When playing college football I was 268 at my heaviest and I have not seen 189 lbs since 9th grade, which was a few too many years ago.
Anyway, my bloat gauge is my "batman belt" at work. If it is tight, then I know its time to get back in line.
I too saw Mark this morning and he was very awake at 0630 (dark outside). He was pushing me with his words then this silent presence. I am pretty sure I hit a PR on the front squats at 315 although it took about 7 or 8 sets.
On the WOD I did defer to John with the 2 pood boulder since he was pushing me out of the way to get it first, and used the 1.5 making it to the end with screaming forearms.
Once home I changed a 1 lb diaper on my daughter. Does that count?

I hate weighing myself, I always weigh more than I look. I don't weigh myself anymore, it ruins my whole outlook, for a while afterward... But my ideal weight according to the link is 135.

Patrick, you had to have gained ten pounds of muscle this year. You look totally different than when you started. However, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised with your results with paleo.

There are no KBs in my work gym, so I had to use DBs. Only used 55lbs because there is no safe way to swing and hold and 70+lbs DB.

My last PR was 125 awhile ago. This was totally mental.
WOD: Rx'd 6:25 I tried to stick with the set amount of rest when I put it down so that I didn't lose too much time. Didn't feel it in my forearms until it was over...then they locked up on me.
Hoping that this cold goes away so that I can breathe by later in the week! See everyone tomorrow! :)

In the past I have had a very unhealthy relationship with the scale. The number can literally ruin my week so I try to stay away from it and go by the way my clothes fit. That said, I know I'm def overweight and need to drop a lbs. I want to be more toned and healthier, but won't let the scale dictate anything.

WOD: Since my back is very tight I went with the 46lb kb today and didn't put it down once throughout the wod :) Once I got past the midpoint I wouldn't let myself drop it even though my fingers were cramping and my forearms were burning!! Completed in 7:53.
