John you're an animal. Nice job.
Here my diet currently. I've been eating whatever is in front of me lately. I tried to get the diet straight but the holiday season kills me ever year. So I told my wife F it I'm going to let it go for now and after we get back from Disney in Jan. I'll fix it.
Crappy but it is what it is for now.
I was zoning and ended up in the hospital...go figure.
I will be back on the zone soon, just need to get my health situated first. I am not allowed to eat a lot of fiber right now, so that means, no veggies, no lettuce, no fruit. I have to remain on that low fiber for another week or so...
Zone without lettuce, veggies and fruit=starvation
I don't think my current diet can be called anything "official" other than eating things that are better for me and not eating the things that aren't.
Not sure I want to see a Nutrition challenge, but a Nutrition Seminar would be good.
Oh yeah, what the hell are all those "diets" anyway? Hence, the need for the seminar.
believe it or not... my diet has been BETTER since i have been pregnant! weird!!!
First and foremost, there is no "right" diet for EVERYONE, but there is a "right" diet for you at this present time.
Your food, whether it be quality, quantity or both, will ultimately change at some point (normally due to your mental state at the time). So, listen to your body and be ready for change. Nothing is set in stone.
Think of your diet as water traveling down stream. You may encounter some obstacles along the way, but you have the choice to continue down stream or be stuck on the obstacle. Downstream is continued health and make it a priority to pursue the healthier you.
For example, I've transitioned from a strict Zone w/ quality food, to a moderate Zone w/ quality food (no weighing and measuring). I'm giving Paleo a try w/ a few exceptions of course, (you all know how I love peanut butter...lol) and we'll see how that goes...
Give yourself at least a couple months to determine if a particular way of eating is working for you!
I know how you all love the long-winded posts - this one's for you...
So to sum up...Jim's eating everything, Steve is eating nothing, Chris is eating better, and Kelly is on point...
Just to add to my first post. The weird part of my diet currently is in between all the crap food I have been eating I still measure and weight the good food. So like today before I go to work I measured out my lunch and dinner.
Lunch - turkey and cheese sandwich (no bread), 30 almonds, and 2 carrots.
Dinner - 2 oz beef jerky, 30 almonds
Weird huh, but when I get home f I see cookies anywhere they will be gone in a blink of an eye.
Basically I have no self control right now.
Jim, my daughter is into your diet and loves watching your cousin on TV...Cookie Monster
I zoned pretty strict before the Hopper Challenge in Oct (outside a few drinks and a dinner out on the weekends). I felt great, workouts were good and I got leaner.
This time of year its difficult to stick to anything, but when I can zone I do. Brett suggested trying Paleo for 2 wks and I think after the holidays I'm gonna give it a try.
If I could feel that good on the zone, and Paleo could be even better its worth a try in my book.
Any Nutrition seminar or challenge would be great. I eat relatively healthy, of course occassional indulge in to much chocolate etc but anything new is always welcomed. I get bored and tired of eatting the same things all the time.
My diet includes lots of protein, fat, and lots of caffiene. I eat a small amounts of fruits and veggies. This works well for me and I like it. The Zone sucks. It made me neurotic. I think solid nutrition is a lifelong commitment and I can't count my apples and almonds for the rest of my life. I just eat good food...and I'm addicted to coffee.
