I got another zone question. I've read now that caffeine should be eliminated when you follow the zone. I also know that caffeine has an effect on insulin (not sure what exactly), so in theory it will impact how you get in the zone. How do you zone-ites manage caffeine? I am open to weaning myself off a little bit, but eliminating it all together? Fiddlesticks!
I have found a solid way to deal with caffeine, I never used to drink it, but in the last couple of months I have started, about 1-2cups when I feel like it, not everyday but on the days when I really need a ppush at work. Plus it makes me feel good!
Thanks E. I am looking to try and wean myself off, perhaps not completely, we'll see. I am going to try Teeccino and wean out the caffeine. I calculated my total, and I am probably around 400mg per day or more, which is a lot higher than I should be. I'll let you guys know how I make out, I'm going to start tomorrow.
Hey guys just wanted to let you know that I will be gracing you with my presence next week finally. Ha, ha. My house was struck by lightening and I've been stuck in the house with strange men coming to fix or replace all the damaged things at my house. You know how it is when they tell you they will be there anytime between 8 and 5. Hey Nick I've been running though! I ran 3 1/2 miles yesterday so maybe soon I'll stop complaining about running. Don't hold your breath though. Just wanted to let you all know that I'm still alive.

How about decaf? I zone and drink 2 cups of decaf a day with raw sugar. I eat 2 almonds with every cup to slow the insulin response of the sugar. Sound ok?
E-I'll post my results: 13 rounds. Paul I would say Brett is your best source for nutrition advice. I drink only one cup a day, but I think I mess up when I use the Non-fat French Vanilla creamer. Not much but just a little for taste. Can't do it all right..all the time:-)

Kev, I never use sugar in my coffee, just non-fat or low-fat milk. I will definitely be in decaf soon, especially if this Teeccino takes like sh*t.
I have a bad ticker, so it is best for me to get off of caffeine anyway. I will let you know how that Teeccino works out. This should be fun.
I did 14 rounds tonite, 95lb SDHP. I really wanted to go RX on this one, still easing in the shoulder, I am trying hard to avoid doing something stupid and push myself to hard. 33 ain't old, but its old enough, I'm not elastic anymore.
Hey now, I rx'd this one with 115lbs. I could have push a little hard I think although I was pretty wrecked when I finished with 9rds. Regardless still a work in progress.
Mark thanks for the words of wisdom. I work on whatever you guys tell needs work every time I get home. Hopefully next time you see me, there'll be more hip movement and yes I'll be faster. I think slo-go will be dead soon, maybe?
