It takes two weeks of stitching..

"Tabata Row/PushUp"

:20 sec work/:10 sec rest w/ a 1 minute rest between exercises.

Row
Push Ups

Tabata's are 8 rounds of 20sec/10sec of work/rest.  Max effort during each 20sec interval is required for best results.  Maintaining the same number of reps throughout the 8 rounds is ideal.
Scoring :  The lowest round is your score for that exercise.
Total - Add lowest rounds together.
Push Ups - Full Rang of Motion (ROM) with shoulder below elbow for rep to count.
Post score for each exercise and total to comments.

What is it about CrossFit that makes us nervous before a workout? We're only exercising!?
It's someone's 1 year anniversary at OTG on Friday.  Can you guess who?
Post thoughts to comments.

Just a comment on what makes me nervous. I have no idea why, but when I read the WOD any day, I start getting nervous. I've been doing Crossfit long enough to know that you can never underestimate any workout, and most of them will thoroughly kick your ass. I guess subconsciously knowing I am about to do something that is going to kick my ass makes me nervous. The other thing about Crossfit is that you rarely do the same workout twice, so I get nervous because I have no idea what its going to do to me. Most likely though, its gonna kick my ass.

Oh Boy this one sounds rough. Good, I like these kind of interval training workouts. I'll be there tonight unless something twisted happens.

I tell you what I have only been CrossFitting for a little more then a month and I'm still figuring out what it is I'm going. But with that said I see the WOD and I have 3 things that run thru my mind.

1st - This is going to test me I hope I can do it. It's something I've never done before.

2nd - How am I going to be able to figure out to do this one at the house with limited equipment. (So far I've done pretty well with that).

3rd - I now my body can do whatever thw WOD is, I just have to convince my mind to let me move thru the pain and exhaustion and do it. This I would say is the toughest part of CrossFit for me, the mental toughness to bring it every time.

Combined score of 88 on today's WOD ... pushups hurt my score as I have little or no upper-body strength.

I don't see a way to tabata on BTW, gotta keep track of this stuff. I did 101 Row; 10 Pushups today.

I believe my rounds were:
Row:
107 107 107 107 107 103 102 101

Pushups:
11 11 11 11 11 11 10 10

First time with Tabata and the rower. Here is where I'm at:

Row
101 100 89 89 92 86 88 87

Push Ups
15 11 8 6 4 5 4 4

So total score would be 90 (86 + 4).

Once again I'm a work in progress. Looking forward to tomorrow WOD. Thanks Brett for all the info, very enlightening.

Good luck to all the guys at the event this weekend. I know you'll all do great!

Jim, great work! The thing to remember about tabata is there is strategy, do something you can maintain for 8 sets. It looks like you burnt yourself out on the first two sets of pushups. For tabata Row, I never did it before, so I just went all out, I don't know if I would have a tabata strategy for Row.

You're progressing great, those box jumps you did earlier, awesome.

Thank you sir. I definitely burned myself out on the push ups. But now I know so watch out next time. Nice number yourself by the way. One of these days we'll met.
