I know these guys are in CA for the week but I figured I throw this up here anyway.

I did Fran today to see how I would do. I only used 65lbs because my shoulders are kind of weak right now. I finished with a whopping 13:27.

I have a lot of work ahead of me.

We all have to start somewhere, Jim.
Just keep a positive attitude and maintain a great work ethic and that number will be a spring board from which to jump from.

I think I'm gonna stick with the main site again today, 1-1-1-1-1-1-1 Shoulder Press. I definitely like the idea of doing strength at least once a week.

Will probably follow that up with a little something extra, maybe a good row. I wouldn't want to waste the heat in the gym.

Anyone up for the anti-crossfit workout? Isn't it all about variety anyway?

10 minutes at 40 RPM on the Eliptical machine, make sure to read at least one full article in one of your gym's random magazines.

10 minute break talking about a meaningless random topic with someone at the gym.

Get a drink of water and check yourself out in several mirrors.

10 minutes at 2.5mph walk on the treadmill. Read a second article.

Post article summaries to comments.

Since Mark and Nick are away I wanted to tell everyone about this awesome workout machine, the Nautilus. It isolates all of your muscles!! I was working those little line muscles right next to my armpit for like 20 minutes. I'm gonna be so ripped in three years!!! I can't wait. And I got an awesome spandex unitard that makes my ass look fuckin great.

Mark: Temptation #1 on week away from OTG

Pregnant wife wants ice cream from recently opened ice cream parlor...what to choose, rocky road, peanut butter / chocolate, mint chocolate chip.....NO TO ALL, I GO FOR A SMALL SUGAR FREE STRAWBERRY!! Temptation #1 down.

BTW, my WOD yesterday was processing over 50 new inmates into the Jail on just my shift (8 hrs.) alone, had a "Deadbeat Dad / Mom Raid," legs, back, and head were all killin me! Get Some!

Thanks Nick,

I'm definitely a work in progress. Thanks for the positive comments. I should be able to get in there maybe once a week in May, I'll be on days for the month.

Just got back yesterday, I really enjoyed the 5 days off, my body doesn't agree. There was a lot of junk food, no zone and more then enough rum and cokes for that time. So I thought I would go to the old gym this morning and do the 'uppers' workout. The pull up bar is thinner then our old bitch bar, but I made it through. Funny thing, I never knew you could sweat out Capt. Morgans.....

nice work E, that workout definitely sucks, especially on the thin ass pull up bars in normal gyms. I think im avoiding all pull up workouts this week because of that. How was the trip? Did you use any of those travel workouts? If i remember correctly there was a 21-15-9 shots of morgan, chips ahoy workout for time

Had a sh*tty workout today. On the should press, I could only muster 140 (did 150 last week at the CFT). My guess is that it had something to do with the workout yesterday, my traps are shredded, but I'm pissed none-the-less.

FYI, beyondthewhiteboard.com now allows you to create your own custom workout. Sweet.

About that thin pullup bar...are you guys saying it makes your pullup workouts harder? I was thinking going from thick to thin would make it near impossible to lose your grip or is there something I'm not considering? Like knurling?

sert11 said...

The thin pullup bar we have is kind of slippery, it's not like the type of bar we're used to. I did find it hard to keep my grip while slipping. That plus the shoulder work of that workout.

Joe the only travelng workout was 3/4 of a 1.75 liter bottle. There also was a nice relaxing paddle down the river (9 miles) in just under 4 hours.

yeah B with the bar i find it a lot harder to grip than our thicker bar. It really rips your hands up quicker i think. Nice work E sounds like a fun trip. Are you still going up to the qualifier?

sert11 said...

yea I'll be there w/the wife, really looking forward to helping push our guys. It's the least we can do for the same guys that push us day in and day out.
still not sure where we're staying

sounds good i'm actually competing too, and was wondering if i could catch a ride up with you if its not too much?

Hi Guys, I know we are all trying to plug through this week at a "regular gym". Here are some workouts you might want to try. I've done a couple of them when I miss CF. #1 3 rds-50 BW squats/20 burpees/50 push ups. #2 30-15-11 of BW squats/squat jumps/pull ups/ and push jerks. #3 3 rds-50 BW squats/50 push ups/50 sit ups.

Get some:-)

Thanks Leanna, #1 looks good, I definitely would like to hear some more of these. I need something to do away from a gym / at home with minimal equipment.

I'm taking a rest day today, my traps are still fried.

Joe, I will speak to the boss and get back to you...I don't see a problem with it.
